I watched the video on social bookmarking, and then I checked out del.icio.us, Furl, Ma.gnolia. I also checked out the del.icio.us account that misd23Things has. I almost went to sleep viewing the del.icio.us video. After viewing the video on Social bookmarking by the Common Craft guys, the del.icio.us video seemed rather boring. The narrator's voice was so monotone, while the narrator in the social bookmarking video was very upbeat and energetic. I enjoyed looking at what misd23Things has on del.icio.us. I was wondering how I was going to keep up with all of the information from this course without having to bookmark on my computer every site we've gone to. I hope we are able to access this page 24/7!
Social bookmarking is a terrific idea! If you've ever lost the "favorites" bookmarks on your computer, then you know how horrifying it is to try and re-create all of them. Social bookmarking is the perfect place to save all of your bookmarks, not to mention the fact that you will be able to view many other bookmarks on some of your favorite books. Reading comments that others have left about that particular bookmark/website will be useful in determining whether you want to go there or not. In addition, you will be able to access your bookmarks from school (provided your school's server doesn't have del.icio.us behind a firewall), thus elminating you having to write the website down on a piece of paper to take to school with you. I've been known to lose those little pieces of paper!
I signed up with del.icio.us because we also studied it in one of the other classes I am taking. I was one of the ones in that class that had MAJOR problems with getting everything set up on del.icio.us. There was a problem with the cookies that prevented everything from working properly.. I FINALLY got it set up last night, and I have had so much fun organizing all of my bookmarks. It is going to be a BIG timesaver having all of my bookmarks easily accessible from any computer. I love it! Check out my bookmarks at http://del.icio.us/network/TexasRose_52.

I also love del.icio.us and took the online class this summer. What a great tool! I am a librarian and was always bookmarking sites at school on individual computers for student use. It was so time-consuming! And, it's great to have an online list ready at your fingertips to share with teachers and other colleagues.
