Since I am an English/ESL teacher, I chose to listen to a Lit Summary Podcast that I found while searching on Learn Out Loud. It gave abbreviated audio summaries of classic books in western literature. The book summaries that were on the podcast whenever I listened to it were: The Scarlet Letter, Frankenstein, Robinson Crusoe, and Pride and Prejudice. This would be a useful tool for those students who have difficulty understanding literature.
I looked at each of the four podcast directories that were listed in our Thing #22 assignment:
Educational Podcast Directory
Podcastdirectory.com
Podcastalley.com
Learn Out Loud
I had difficulty navigating through Podcastdirectory.com. Some of the links seemed to go around in circles. The others were o.k.
I'm not much of a podcast person. I doubt that I will be "inspired" to create and record a podcast. I will, however, occasionally use a podcast to assist me in my teaching endeavors.

Podcasts are so much fun. You may want to contact Curtissa Greene at Poteet. She is the ESL teacher and she uses iPods and podcasts with her students. I know everyone student does not have an iPod, but she has some really cool ideas for using podcasts with ESL students.
